Sergio Romero Scholarship Fund & JAMS Benefit

October 7th, 2011. The day that 15-year-old Sergio Romero left us after being hit by a truck crossing Milpas Street after leaving band practice at JAMS.

Sergio's dream was to become a rock star. Some of us might believe this dream is out of reach for the common person--but he believed in his dream with all his heart. His genuine love for music began at Adams school when he began to learn to play the violin. However, Sergio's love for the guitar grew when he entered junior high school and started taking guitar classes.

Sergio practiced the guitar every day and formed his own band that was scheduled to play at the Avocado Festival the weekend after he died. It would have been his very first concert. Sergio was a member of the Jasmine Alternative Music School (JAMS), where he was playing music with his friends for the public and asking for donations just days before his death.

Join us at SOhO Restaurant on Wednesday, November 9th from 5-9 pm for a benefit concert, featuring Stolen Thunder, 50 Below, Technical Difficulties, and The Wha Wha's. Help raise money for instruments and teachers at JAMS.

$8 cover. All ages.
